Scam Report

-----Original Mesage-----

This person originally messaged me through the dating site Plenty of Fish (POF) and they seemed nice so I started to like them. They then lured me into messaging them through Google Hangouts then we exchanged cellphone numbers. We chatted daily and they quickly ""fell in love with me"" and we exchanged multiple photos which assured me they were real. A couple weeks later they asked me to go to the store and buy them an AT&T Promotional card either $100. or $250.

I told them I was not spending money on a card and they got aggressive with me and stated that I misunderstood them and again told me that all I would need to do is spend $100. and they would save 50% on their cellphone bill. We argued again then just to calm them down I told them I would look in stores for them.

We kept chatting and through out our chats they told me they loved me and I was the only person they had besides their mother in California and Uncle in Canada. A week passed by then they asked me to check for tha t card again. I became suspicious of them and checked them up and their phone number showed 2 possible locations with 1 being in Los Angeles California and the other location being out of India. I confronted them and the got overly aggressive with me and told me they are indeed in California and they were disappointed in me for not believing them.

Things calmed down then a week passed and they told me their father who was in Liverpool and flying to New York the very next day. I was already suspicious of them cause they never talked about their father and they stated all they had left was their mother and uncle. The very next day I got a text stating a tragedy befell on her family and her father was killed in an automobile accident on his way to the airport and that she had planned to go to Liverpool with her mother to see the body and lay him to rest.

They stated their father was Ivorian and his will stated that he wanted to be buried there where he was born and that her and her mot her were flying there to see to it that he was buried in his home country. Already suspicious at this time I just played along and let them think I was still interested in them. They told me that after they had laid him to rest they would fly back to Liverpool to settle out the will and divide up his estate. Days into their supposed ""stay in the Ivory Coast"" they told me that their fathers relatives told them that they needed to be married to have their father's estate carried on by a man and that they wanted me to say that I was married to them and they wanted me to send over $1,750.00 USD and they would allow them to keep their estate.

I laughed cause I knew it was coming and they got very mad at me and told me that if I did not they would be forced to marry someone there and that they would control their whole inheritance their supposedly rich father had left for them and that if I did not send the money they would take it all from them.

I got mad at them and called them a liar a nd a scammer as well as a fraud then they got mad and said they were real and they said I'm glad you think this is funny!! I need your help or I will lose everything they exclaimed. I had wished them good luck and blocked their US phone number of 213-798-4054 so they could no longer contact me, then 2 days later I received 2 phone calls one after another coming from Ghana and that number was +233 54 346 4406.

I do not know who those scammers are, but they should be stopped in any ways possible since they are scamming millions or billions of people every year so it is making the whole online dating community a very dangerous place to look for love.
